First Look at ‘Red Riding,’ Neil Marshall’s Dark ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ Horror
Folklore turns deadly in the first images and poster for Red Riding, the twisted new take on Little Red Riding Hood, executive produced by horror stalwart Neil Marshall.
Previously titled Little Red, the contemporary reimagining will world premiere at FrightFest Glasgow in Scotland on March 7.
Directed by Craig Conway (The Descent, Dog Soldiers, Doomsday) from a script by Peter Stylianou, Red Riding follows Redele Riding, a troubled teen sent from her London council estate to live with her estranged aristocratic grandmother in the Scottish Highlands after her mother’s overdose.
At first, Red is enchanted by the grand estate—but dark secrets lurk beneath the elegance: vanished children, whispers of a monstrous wolf in the woods, and the sinister influence of her grandmother and the menacing gamekeeper. As folklore and reality collide, Red must unravel cryptic warnings left by her mother and confront a dark family legacy.
The cast includes Victoria Tait as Redele, alongside Bill Fellows (Ted Lasso), Ian Whyte (Alien vs. Predator), Lynsey Beauchamp, and Jack McEvoy (Vikings).
Produced by House54, with The Coven handling worldwide sales, Red Riding promises a gritty, folklore-infused horror that blends fairy tale and nightmare.
