The wait for Jason’s return is almost over — filming has officially wrapped on A24 and Peacock’s upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake.

Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry) confirmed the news on Instagram, celebrating the milestone:

Crystal Lake wrap party was epic! I’m madly in love with and totally in awe of this stellar bunch of artists and humans,” Kane wrote. “Season 1 (almost sorta not quite) done and dusted. More please and thank you.”

Actor Cameron Scoggins, who stars in the series, shared his excitement in his own post:

“What a journey since June! To be a part of Crystal Lake has been the dream of a lifetime,” he said. “Thank you to A24 and Peacock for the opportunity, and to our incredible crew for being the best group of people to be around every day. You’re not ready for what’s coming.”

Scoggins added that fans can expect to spend “more quality time with the beautifully colorful denizens of this infamously cursed town — and its most famous undying resident.

While Crystal Lake doesn’t have an official release date yet, it’s expected to premiere sometime in 2026.

The series stars Callum Vinson as a young Jason Voorhees and Linda Cardellini as Mrs. Voorhees, exploring the bloody origins of Camp Crystal Lake and the events that shaped the legend.

The cast also includes William Catlett (A Thousand and One), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Cameron Scoggins (Nashville), and Gwendolyn Sundstrom, with Nick Cordileone as Crazy Ralph, Danielle Kotch as Claudette, and Phoenix Parnevik as Barry — all familiar faces from the original 1980 classic.

Nancy Nagrant will appear as Kay Christy, a descendant of Steve Christy from the original film, while Joy Suprano (Fleishman Is in Trouble) also joins the cast.

The eight-episode prequel is being directed by Michael Lennox (Derry Girls), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (The Pitt).

The lake may look calm for now, but when Crystal Lake finally opens its gates in 2026, you can bet the body count will rise again.
