‘Crystal Lake’ Slashes Its Way to Sky — Series Premieres Next Year in the UK and Ireland
Filming has been relentless this summer on A24 and Peacock’s Friday the 13th prequel, Crystal Lake, and now the series has a UK home. Sky has acquired the rights to broadcast the slasher saga in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with a premiere set for 2026 — meaning U.S. fans can expect it on Peacock next year as well.
Sky’s Katie Keenan said, “We are so excited to bring Crystal Lake, the backstory to the iconic Friday the 13th franchise… We are thrilled to be in partnership with A24 and Peacock on this project.”
The series promises a deeper dive into the terror behind Camp Crystal Lake. Callum Vinson takes on a young Jason Voorhees, while Linda Cardellini steps into the role of Mrs. Voorhees. Other cast members include William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. Classic characters like Crazy Ralph (Nick Cordileone), Claudette (Danielle Kotch), and Barry (Phoenix Parnevik) also return, along with new faces like Nancy Nagrant as Kay Christy and Joy Suprano.
The eight-episode series will be directed by Michael Lennox (Derry Girls), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (The Pitt), with Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry) serving as showrunner.
For fans of gore, suspense, and the original slasher mythos, Crystal Lake looks set to dig deep into the blood-soaked origins of Camp Crystal Lake.
