“Monster” Season 4 Will Tell the Tale of Lizzie Borden

Ryan Murphy’s true crime-based Netflix series Monster has profiled Jeffrey Dahmer, the Menendez Brothers, and soon Ed Gein in the upcoming third season, and Variety reports that the fourth season of the series will put the spotlight on the infamous Lizzie Borden.

It’s interesting to note that there hasn’t actually even been official word about Monster being renewed for a fourth season, with the third season currently without a premiere date.

The outlet reports this afternoon, however, “Variety has learned from sources that a fourth season focused on the Lizzie Borden case is currently prepping for a potential fall shoot, though no official Season 4 renewal has been announced at this time.”

The story of Lizzie Borden, accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1892, has been the subject of various movies and television shows over the years. In fact, a new indie horror movie titled The Lizzie Borden Game just released last week, and Christina Ricci played Borden in Lifetime’s The Lizzie Borden Chronicles in 2015.

Chloë Sevigny later played Lizzie Borden in the 2018 feature film Lizzie.
