Saban Films Acquires Crime Thriller ‘In Cold Light’ Starring Maika Monroe

Saban Films has secured the North American rights to In Cold Light, a tense crime thriller from acclaimed French-Canadian director Maxime Giroux (Felix and Meira), ahead of the film’s world premiere at this weekend’s Tribeca Film Festival.
Set for a U.S. theatrical release in 2025, In Cold Light stars Maika Monroe (It Follows) as Ava, a woman freshly released from prison and determined to reclaim her place in a fractured city where loyalty is power and violence rules. But after witnessing a gruesome crime, Ava finds herself on the run — pursued by deadly enemies and haunted by her past.
Joining Monroe are Troy Kotsur (CODA) and Helen Hunt, adding award-winning gravitas to the film’s high-stakes narrative. The screenplay was penned by Patrick Whistler.
“In Cold Light is a tour de force on every level,” said Saban Films co-presidents Jonathan Saban and Shanan Becker. “Maika Monroe is a star of the highest order, and her performance in this electrifying thriller proves it. With Academy Award winners Helen Hunt and Troy Kotsur rounding out the cast, the film delivers both emotionally and viscerally.”
