It’s been a thirteen-month wait since we first caught a glimpse of the first-person-shooter video game, “RoboCop: Rogue City,” featuring the return of Peter Weller as the iconic law enforcer, RoboCop. Set for release this September on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, the anticipation is building, and now, as the month looms closer, an exciting new gameplay trailer has surfaced. You can catch all the action in the embedded video above.

Developed by Teyon, the same studio behind titles like “Terminator: Resistance” and “Rambo: The Video Game,” “RoboCop: Rogue City” promises to blend first-person shooter gameplay with immersive exploration of Detroit and dynamic multiple-choice dialogue interactions. The game unfolds in a city on the brink of chaos, where crime reigns, and societal divisions are stark. To restore order, the Detroit Police Department is placed under the control of the Omni Consumer Products corporation. Enter the solution: a cyborg tasked with safeguarding the beleaguered city.

If the gameplay trailer above has left you eager for more, IGN has got you covered. They’ve released an extended video showcasing a whopping 16 minutes of “RoboCop: Rogue City” gameplay, and you can catch that at the end of this article.

Peter Weller, renowned for his portrayal of the titular character in the 1987 classic “RoboCop,” reprised the role for the 1990 sequel, “RoboCop 2.” However, scheduling conflicts prevented his return for the 1993 installment, “RoboCop 3,” with Robert Burke stepping into the iconic role. In the three-plus decades since “RoboCop 2,” Weller has had the opportunity to lend his voice to the character in a Family Guy video game and the Mortal Kombat 11 video game.

Remarkably, Peter Weller, now 76 years old, continues to breathe life into RoboCop through video games, sparing him the rigors of donning the iconic costume or enduring hours in the makeup chair.
