Fresh from its appearance at New York Comic Con, ‘The Strangers: Chapter 1,’ the inaugural installment in Lionsgate’s trilogy, has revealed its very first clip.

While ‘The Strangers: Chapter 1’ is regarded as somewhat of a reimagining of the original 2008 film, its upcoming sequels – ‘Chapter 2’ and ‘Chapter 3′ – promise to chart an entirely fresh course.

This new clip, which can be viewed below, reintroduces the memorable “Is Tamara home?” moment, a chilling callback to the series’ roots.

The film features a stellar cast, including Madelaine Petsch (‘Riverdale’), Froy Gutierrez (‘Hocus Pocus 2’), Rachel Shenton (‘The Silent Child’), Ema Horvath (‘Rings of Power’), and Gabe Basso (‘Hillbilly Elegy’).

Drawing inspiration from the cult horror franchise originating in 2008, the story revolves around Petsch’s character embarking on a cross-country journey with her long-term boyfriend (Gutierrez) to start a new life in the Pacific Northwest. However, when their vehicle breaks down in Venus, Oregon, they’re compelled to spend the night in a secluded Airbnb, only to be terrorized by three masked assailants from nightfall till dawn.

Directed by Renny Harlin (‘Cliffhanger,’ ‘Deep Blue Sea,’ ‘Die Hard 2’) and written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland (‘The Freak Brothers,’ ‘Due Date’), ‘The Strangers: Chapter 1’ will be distributed globally by Lionsgate.

The spine-tingling journey of ‘The Strangers’ began in 2008 with Bryan Bertino’s original home invasion horror film, introducing three masked killers. A decade later, the menacing Man in the Mask, Dollface, and Pinup Girl made their return in ‘The Strangers: Prey at Night’ (2018). The initial film unfolded in a remote woodland house, while its sequel shifted the bloodshed to a trailer park setting.”
