The upcoming horror film, formerly known as ‘The Origin’ and now titled ‘Out of Darkness,’ is poised to transport audiences to the chilling and primal era of the Stone Age. Today, a fresh trailer has emerged, offering a glimpse into the daunting struggles for survival that await in this Paleolithic thriller.

Bleecker Street is set to unleash ‘Out of Darkness’ in theaters on February 9, 2024. The new trailer provides a haunting peek into the unforgiving landscape of the Paleolithic period, where survival teeters on a knife’s edge.

This gripping tale has been described as a tense and emotionally charged journey, meticulously crafted to bring the ancient world to life. The film even boasts a language specially created by a linguist and an archaeologist, adding depth to its authenticity.

In ‘Out of Darkness,’ a group of six individuals arrives on a barren shoreline 45,000 years ago, driven by starvation and desperation to find a new home. Their quest for survival leads them across the harsh tundra towards distant mountains promising refuge in caves. However, as night descends, their hopes turn to fear and uncertainty when they realize they are not alone.

The cast features Safia Oakley-Green (“Sherwood”), Chuku Modu (“Captain Marvel”), Kit Young (“Shadow and Bone”), Iola Evans (“Choose or Die”), Luna Mwezi (“Needle Park Baby”), Arno Luening (“Divine Comedy”), alongside Rosebud Melarkey and Tyrell Mhlanga.

Andrew Cumming takes the directorial helm for Sony Pictures’ Stage 6, with Ruth Greenberg (known for ‘Run’) penning the script. Oliver Kassman, the producer of ‘Saint Maud,’ brings this horror film to life.
