It’s been nearly two years since we last heard about Steven C. Miller’s werewolf movie, formerly known as “Year 2,” starring Frank Grillo. However, recent updates from the filmmaker on social media suggest that the wait for action-packed werewolf mayhem is almost over, along with a new title: “Werewolves.”

The premise of “Werewolves” revolves around a supermoon event triggering a latent gene, turning everyone exposed to moonlight into werewolves for a single night, resulting in millions of casualties. Now, as the supermoon returns, the chaos reignites.

Katrina Law (“NCIS”) joins Grillo, portraying the brilliant geneticist Dr. Amy Chen, embarking on a perilous journey with Grillo’s character to rescue their loved ones amidst a ticking clock.

The concept feels reminiscent of “The Purge: Anarchy” but with werewolves, promising an exhilarating blend of action and horror.

According to Miller’s recent Twitter updates, the filmmaker is hard at work completing post-production for the action-horror film, adding the finishing touches to the Digital Intermediate (DI) this week.

The cast also includes:

– Lou Diamond Phillips as Dr. Aranda, the Head of the CDC tasked with finding a cure for the werewolf pandemic.
– Ilfenesh Hadera as Lucy, Wesley’s (Frank Grillo) sister-in-law, defending her fortified home with her daughter from a horde of werewolves.
– Johnathon Schaech as Cody, Lucy’s neighbor and a seasoned veteran who hunts down werewolves.

The film, produced by The Solution Entertainment and helmed by Steven C. Miller, known for his work on various action and horror projects, is nearing completion. With Grillo’s impressive track record in action films and the anticipation surrounding “Werewolves,” expect to hear more about this thrilling movie in the coming days. Stay tuned for updates.
