Prepare for a spine-tingling prequel to the hit movie “Veronica,” directed by Paco Plaza, co-director of the renowned “[REC]” series. The prequel, titled “Sister Death” (also known as “Hermana Muerte”), is set to haunt your screens on Netflix just in time for Halloween.

Mark your calendars for the premiere of “Sister Death” on Netflix, scheduled for October 27, 2023. As you eagerly await its release, indulge in a sneak peek of new images and poster art below.

The focus of the prequel, “Sister Death,” centers on the character Hermana Muerte, originally portrayed by Consuelo Trujillo in “Veronica.”

In “Sister Death,” we are transported to post-war Spain, where Narcisa (played by Aria Bedmar), a young novice possessing supernatural abilities, embarks on a journey to a former convent, now transformed into a school for girls, with the aspiration of becoming a teacher. However, as the days pass, Narcisa is besieged by increasingly strange and disturbing occurrences that will ultimately compel her to unravel the web of dark secrets shrouding the convent and tormenting its inhabitants.

Joining the cast are Almudena Amor, Luisa Merelas, Chelo Vivares, and Maru Valdivielso, promising an ensemble of talented performers to bring this eerie tale to life.

For those unfamiliar with “Veronica,” the original film follows the story of a young woman who must protect her younger siblings after attempting to summon the spirit of their deceased father through a Ouija ritual. “Veronica” draws inspiration from the true story of Estefania Gutierrez Lazaro, a Spanish teenager who mysteriously passed away in 1992 after dabbling with a Ouija board. If you haven’t already, you can catch “Veronica” on Netflix in preparation for the prequel’s arrival.

Jorge Guerricaechevarria has penned the script for this highly anticipated prequel, setting the stage for another chilling addition to the “Veronica” universe. Get ready for a Halloween season filled with supernatural thrills and mysteries as “Sister Death” unveils its dark secrets on Netflix.
