“Sharksploitation” is a thrilling Shudder Original Documentary that will be available for streaming on July 21 in the United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia/New Zealand. This captivating documentary explores the intriguing and eccentric cinematic legacy of sharks in film, delving into the world’s enduring fascination with these formidable creatures.

In the wake of the iconic blockbuster “Jaws,” a new subgenre emerged, capturing the imagination of audiences worldwide. “Sharksploitation” takes viewers deep dive into this unique cinematic realm, exploring the weird and wild world of shark-centric movies.

This summer marks the 48th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s horror masterpiece “Jaws.” The film not only paved the way for many shark attack imitators that continue to captivate audiences today but also revolutionized the concept of the modern-day summer blockbuster. Since its release in 1975, hardly a year has passed without a new shark attack horror movie hitting the screens.
