‘Pumpkinhead 2’ from R.L. Stine Heading to Tubi This Halloween
After carving out a successful debut last Halloween, R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead is officially getting a sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Tubi Original follow-up is on the way—and it’s arriving just in time for spooky season.
‘R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2’ premieres on Tubi in October 2026.
Director Jem Garrard (Slay) returns to helm the sequel, which centers on Evan, a bullied student who stumbles upon a forbidden spellbook. When he unleashes its power, an ancient curse is reawakened in the town of Redhaven. Soon, the pumpkin-headed children of past sacrifices rise from the ground, threatening to overrun the town during its Harvest Festival.
Redhaven’s only chance may lie with the return of a mysterious witch determined to destroy the cursed book once and for all.
Tubi’s Chief Content Officer Adam Lewinson praised the franchise’s growing appeal, stating that R.L. Stine’s influence on young horror fans remains as strong as ever. With the first film’s breakout success, the sequel promises to expand the mythology while continuing to deliver accessible scares for a new generation.
Stine himself added, “Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without a good story about kids being trapped inside a pumpkin. I’m so happy we’re getting another Pumpkinhead adventure on Tubi.”
The original R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead premiered on October 17, 2025, adapting an episode from The Haunting Hour. The film followed teenager Sam, who moves to Redhaven only to have his brother mysteriously erased from existence. With the help of his friends, Sam races against time to break a deadly harvest curse before Halloween night.
The movie was praised as a solid gateway horror for younger audiences, blending creepy visuals, supernatural mystery, and just enough darkness to leave a mark—while still keeping things fun for seasonal viewing.
With Pumpkinhead 2, expect the stakes—and the body count—to rise when the curse returns this October.
