If Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein left you craving another auteur’s vision of a classic monster, Luc Besson (Léon: The Professional, The Fifth Element) is ready to deliver with Dracula.

Originally titled Dracula: A Love Tale, Besson’s fresh take on Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel opens in theaters February 6, 2026 via Vertical. The trailer promises a blood-soaked horror-fantasy romance.

Caleb Landry Jones (Get Out), Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained), and Zoë Bleu lead the cast.

The story follows a 15th-century prince (Jones) who witnesses the brutal murder of his wife (Bleu), prompting him to renounce God and curse heaven itself. Transformed into Dracula, an immortal warlord, he embarks on a relentless crusade to reclaim his lost love from death — no matter the cost.

Standing in his way is a relentless priest (Waltz), sworn to end Dracula’s immortal reign.

Besson writes, directs, and produces, with Danny Elfman (Batman, Beetlejuice) composing the score.

Supporting cast includes Guillaume de Tonquedec (The Double Life of Véronique), Matilda de Angelis (The Undoing), Ewens Abid (Andor), and Raphael Luce (Stranger Things). Executive producers are Mark Canton, Dorothy Canton, Ryan Winterstern, and Philippe Corrot.

“This film is very close to my heart and has been a joy to create over the past two years,” said Besson. “At its core, it’s a love story—Dracula seen in a different light, as a man searching for his lost love over 400 years.”
