The horror film landscape is set to welcome a new entrant, as Late Night With the Devil gets ready for its North American, U.K., and Ireland release. IFC Films and Shudder have jointly acquired the rights to this horror film, which has already garnered attention in the film festival circuit. You can read our iHorror review of Late Night With the Devil here.

Directed by the Australian duo, Cameron and Colin Cairnes, Late Night With the Devil is a nod to the classic horror films of the 1970s, reminiscent of iconic titles like The Exorcist and Rosemary’s Baby. The film’s storyline revolves around Jack Delroy, portrayed by David Dastmalchian, who is the charismatic host of the late-night talk show “Night Owls.” The plot thickens when Delroy decides to stage a demon-evoking seance on live television, leading to unforeseen and terrifying consequences as evil is unleashed into the homes of unsuspecting viewers.

David Dastmalchian, known for his roles in Dune and The Suicide Squad, expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating that playing Jack Delroy was a transformative experience that reshaped his perspective on his craft. “Playing Jack Delroy in Late Night with the Devil was a once-in-a-lifetime role that haunted me and changed the way I look at my work forever,” said Dastmalchian. “IFC Films and Shudder are the perfect partners to bring this film to audiences. I’m so grateful to the Cairnes brothers for their craftsmanship and to all of the festival fans who have created an incredible rumble about Late Night with the Devil!”

The film’s premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival was met with positive reviews, highlighting its unique blend of late-night show chaos with intense demonic horror. Following its SXSW debut, Late Night With the Devil continued to impress at other film festivals, clinching the best screenplay award at the Sitges Film Festival and multiple accolades at Toronto After Dark, including best feature film.

While the specific release date remains under wraps, audiences can anticipate a theatrical release, after which the film will make its streaming debut on Shudder.
