Now that the Hollywood strikes have ended, Deadpool 3 resumed filming and a new character is being introduced: “Dogpool.”

On Dogpool’s official Instagram, the canine star licks the bare face of his counterpart, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds.) Lately there’s been debate about whether children should use the digital platform. However, it appears the question about dogs’ usage has fallen by the Wade-side.

Dogpool, who started life as “Wilson,” originates from the “Marvel Dogverse,” an alternate reality. While he was once a run-of-the-mill pooch, he was transformed in the same way as Deadpool, giving him identical regenerative superpowers, as well as a fondness for breaking the fourth wall.

And as the canine equivalent to Deadpool, Dogpool’s looks aren’t the most attractive, so he won’t be winning any beauty contests. In fact, the only contest he could potentially win is the “World Ugliest Dog’s Contest.”

Besides Deadpool’s furry sidekick, others expected to play a major role in Deadpool 3 include: Hugh Jackman, and the following returning cast members: Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa, Karan Soni’s Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić’s Colossus, and Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead. In addition, Rob Delaney’s Peter, Leslie Uggams’ Blind Al, and Shioli Kutsuna’s Yukio will appear in the third installation. Finally, according to The Mirror, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra and Sabretooth actor Tyler Mane, have been rumored to be filming the beloved franchise.

Deadpool 3 will be released in 2024. For now, you can stream Deadpool and Deadpool 2 on Disney+, and you can follow Dogpool on Instagram for more updates.
