Director Maggie Gyllenhaal is set to revive the iconic Bride of Frankenstein in the upcoming feature film “The Bride!” and we’re excited to share two exclusive first look images with you.

Scheduled for release in theaters on October 3, 2025, “The Bride!” promises to reimagine this classic tale for a new generation. Christian Bale stars as Frankenstein’s Monster, depicted in one of the released images, while the other provides a glimpse of Jessie Buckley in the role of the titular Bride.

The film’s premise takes us to 1930s Chicago, where a solitary Frankenstein embarks on a journey to enlist the help of Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. Their collaboration leads to the reanimation of a murdered young woman, resulting in the creation of the Bride. However, she surpasses their expectations, sparking a passionate yet tumultuous romance, drawing the attention of law enforcement and inciting a radical social movement.

Joining Bale and Buckley in the cast are Penelope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening, who portray pivotal characters in this captivating narrative.

The original 1935 film, directed by James Whale, depicted Dr. Frankenstein’s struggles after recovering from injuries inflicted during a mob attack. Under the influence of his former mentor, Dr. Pretorius, he is compelled to resume his experiments in creating life. Meanwhile, the Monster remains on the run, misunderstood by society despite his inherent benevolence.

As “The Bride!” embarks on this ambitious retelling, it promises to captivate audiences with its blend of romance, intrigue, and social commentary.
