Chuck Russell, the filmmaker of Dream Warriors and The Blob, is planning to recreate Witchboard, and Deadline has fresh casting information.

Charlie Tahan (Ozark), Antonia Desplat (Shantaram), Madison Iseman (I Know What You Did Last Summer), and Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building) will all play the lead roles.

Jamie Campbell Bower (“Stranger Things”) also stars, as was previously stated.

In addition to directing, Russell and Greg McKay also authored the script.

In the original 1986 film by writer/director Kevin S. Tenney, “Friends playing with a Ouija board at a late-night party unleash a demonic spirit who begins hunting them.”.

The remake’s plot summary is as follows:

“Emily, her fiancé Christian, and a group of their friends start an organic café in the French Quarter of New Orleans by renovating an ancient carriage house. However, when Emily comes across an old pendulum board that was once used to call spirits, darkness falls over her.

“Christian asks occult expert Alexander Babtiste for assistance with Emily, but Babtiste has his own secrets because he is aware of the tragic bloodlines that connect them all to the Witchboard. A hazardous game that endangers Emily’s very soul involves a contemporary coven of White Witches, a masquerade event at Babtiste’s estate, and Naga Soth’s legacy.
