‘Blink Twice’: Zoë Kravitz’s Thriller, Formerly Known as ‘Pussy Island,’ Set to Hit Theaters This Summer

When we initially reported on Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, it bore the title “Pussy Island.” However, in a recent update, the thriller is now officially titled “Blink Twice,” as per Deadline’s latest report. Scheduled for release on August 23 by Amazon MGM Studios, the film will notably hit theaters instead of making its debut on Prime Video.

Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie take the lead in this MGM thriller. In “Blink Twice,” tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) encounters cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala, leading to a spark between them. He extends an invitation for Frida to join him and his friends on a dream vacation to his private island, promising a paradise of wild nights and sun-soaked days where everyone is having a great time.

As the narrative unfolds, strange occurrences begin to disrupt the idyllic setting, prompting Frida to question her reality. Something is amiss on this seemingly perfect island, and she must uncover the truth if she wants to survive this extravagant party.

The cast also features Alia Shawkat, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Kyle MacLachlan, and Geena Davis. Kravitz co-wrote the script with E.T. Feigenbaum.

It’s worth noting the decision to release “Blink Twice” in theaters, a departure from the trend of films premiering directly on Prime Video. In contrast, MGM’s “Road House,” directed by Doug Liman, will go directly to Prime Video.

The film promises a blend of thriller and mystery, as Frida navigates the luxurious but ominous world of Slater King’s private island.
