Barbara Crampton, renowned for her roles in horror classics like “Re-Animator” and “Suitable Flesh,” is set to star alongside Luke Barnett from “Faith Based” in the spine-chilling thriller “Teacher’s Pet.”

The forthcoming film delves into the unsettling tale of a malevolent new high school teacher harboring a dark past, whose fixation on a brilliant female student spirals into a dangerous obsession. As his true sociopathic nature emerges, the young woman finds herself entangled in a perilous battle of wits to survive the horrors of high school.

Joining Crampton and Barnett are Sara Tomko (“Resident Alien”), Drew Powell (“Gotham”), newcomer Michelle Torian, Kevin Makely (“Young Rock”), Clayton Royal Johnson (“Stranger Things”), Alexe-Anne Godin, Richard Handley (“The Black String”), and Alexis DawTyne.

Written and directed by Noam Kroll, “Teacher’s Pet” follows the journey of a talented high school senior (Torian) who finds solace in the charismatic new teacher (Barnett) amidst her turbulent life. However, as the school year progresses, the cost of his assistance becomes chillingly clear.

Sheldon Brigman, founder and CEO of Launch Releasing, produces the film alongside Handley, Kroll, Kayli Fortun, and Brian Hanson. Barnett, Brigman, Kelby Thwaits, and Charles Bunce serve as executive producers. Financed, produced, and distributed by Launch Releasing, the indie project recently wrapped production and secured a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement following the Hollywood actors’ strike.

Barnett’s portrayal of the complex character has already garnered praise from Brigman, who expressed excitement about bringing the multi-layered thriller to audiences.

While details about Crampton’s role remain under wraps, the horror icon has recently graced the screen in “Suitable Flesh,” “Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls,” and the upcoming “Blackout.”

As anticipation builds for “Teacher’s Pet,” fans can expect more updates on the film in the near future.
