The upcoming film “Stiletto” is a nostalgic nod to the 1980s slasher genre, set to feature familiar faces including AEW pro wrestling star Stephon ‘Swerve’ Strickland.

Strickland joins a star-studded cast in “Stiletto,” directed by Samuel Gonzalez Jr. (known for “The Retaliators”), according to Deadline.

The ensemble includes Gigi Gustin (“Night of the Missing”), Charlotte McKinney (“Fantasy Island”), Colleen Camp (“Amsterdam,” “American Hustle”), Pancho Moler (“3 from Hell”), Tyler Abron (“Fear”), Stephen Blackehart (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Meghan Carrasquillo (“Four”), Russell Todd (“Friday the 13th Part 2”), and Mia Challis (“FBI: International”).

The horror film revolves around the aftermath of a brutal murder, with Lyric (played by Gustin), the victim’s sister, on a mission to hunt down the serial killer responsible for the grisly act. As the anniversary of the tragedy approaches, the killer stalks and targets his favorite dancers.

Director and scriptwriter Samuel Gonzalez Jr. shared his inspiration for the movie, stating, “As a child, I delved into the obscure realm of 80s horror flicks at the back of video stores. The allure of the ‘strange and unusual,’ particularly the early slasher cinema, captivated me.”

“Stiletto” aims to pay homage to beloved 80s slasher films while pushing the boundaries of cinematic horror. The film promises memorable kills, a diverse ensemble of emerging talents and established legends, and a narrative that embraces the essence of classic slasher movies. Gonzalez Jr. expressed enthusiasm, calling it a heartfelt tribute and eagerly anticipating the world’s introduction to the “Stiletto Killer.”
