‘Invertigo’ Traps Inde Navarrette on a Roller Coaster in New Horror Movie
Inde Navarrette is quickly becoming one of the names to watch in Hollywood, and her next horror project could put her in one seriously terrifying situation.
Following her acclaimed performance in Curry Barker’s Obsession, Navarrette has already landed major opportunities, including the role of Rogue in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men movie. She’s also been linked to Michael Mann’s Heat 2, although details surrounding that project remain under wraps.
While fans wait to see what comes next, Navarrette has already wrapped another horror movie.
Currently in post-production, Invertigo is an upcoming survival thriller from the producers behind Fall and Obsession. And this time, the danger comes from somewhere a little higher off the ground.
The film follows a group of reckless teenagers who convince a young theme park employee to sneak them onto a roller coaster before its official opening. But what starts as a thrill ride quickly turns into a nightmare when a system failure leaves them trapped hundreds of feet in the air.
With nowhere to go and no easy way down, the group is forced to fight for survival as old traumas, buried secrets, and growing tensions begin pushing them toward chaos.
Navarrette leads the cast alongside Conor Sánchez, Tom Lewis, Ceara Coveney, Victoria Broom, Eoin O’Brien, Aidan Bristow, Dylan Ennis, Jordon Shinn, Christopher Evangelou, Alexandra Bartlett, Charlie Di Stefano, David Samartin, and Matteo Piombino.
Invertigo is directed by Matthias Hoene (Cockneys vs Zombies) from a screenplay by Kathy Charles (Jakob’s Wife) and Billy O’Brien (I Am Not a Serial Killer).
Hoene previously described the film as a story about both physical and psychological fear.
“Invertigo is a film about fear — both the immediate, visceral kind and the deeper fears we carry with us,” the director explained.
“Setting the story high above the ground allowed us to push the tension to an extreme, but it’s the emotional pressure between these characters that truly drives the film.”
He also praised Navarrette, adding that she brings “an incredible intensity and vulnerability” to the role.
There’s currently no release date or first-look footage for Invertigo, but with production already complete and the film now in post-production, hopefully it won’t be too long before we get our first glimpse.
One thing is certain: being trapped on a roller coaster hundreds of feet in the air is already terrifying enough. Add a group of teenagers, buried trauma, and a survival situation, and Invertigo could be one hell of a ride.
