The first teaser for Prime Video’s Carrie has arrived, offering a chilling glimpse at Mike Flanagan’s reimagining of Stephen King’s iconic horror novel. Alongside the teaser, Prime Video confirmed that the eight-episode limited series premieres on October 7.

The series stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie White, a lonely and isolated teenager searching for friendship while struggling to survive life under the control of her deeply religious and overprotective mother, Margaret White, played by Samantha Sloyan.

After the sudden death of her father forces her into public high school, Carrie finds herself at the center of relentless bullying, social media harassment, and a viral scandal that spirals out of control. At the same time, mysterious telekinetic abilities begin to emerge, setting the stage for the terrifying events horror fans know all too well.

Flanagan serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner for the series, while also directing four of its eight episodes. Stephen King joins the project as an executive producer.

The supporting cast includes Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota, Arthur Conti, Thalia Dudek, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.

While the series remains faithful to King’s classic story, Flanagan is expanding the mythology in a major way. He revealed that each episode will begin by introducing a different woman from another place and time who is discovering supernatural abilities of her own, hinting at a much larger universe surrounding Carrie’s powers.

Flanagan has also promised a modern take on the story, exploring bullying and isolation through the lens of today’s social media culture while staying true to the emotional core of King’s novel.

Alongside the teaser, Prime Video also unveiled a new poster featuring Carrie wearing her iconic prom queen tiara—a haunting reminder of the unforgettable nightmare still to come.
