New ‘Lord of the Flies’ Series Arrives on Netflix in May
William Golding’s Lord of the Flies is heading back to the screen with a new limited series adaptation, arriving on Netflix in the U.S. on May 4 after its recent UK debut.
Created and written by Emmy winner Jack Thorne (Adolescence, Enola Holmes), the four-part series is directed by Marc Munden (Utopia, The Secret Garden).
The story remains as chilling as ever: a group of English schoolboys stranded on a remote island slowly descend from innocence into chaos, as survival instincts give way to fear, violence, and primal brutality.
The cast includes Winston Sawyers, Lox Pratt, David McKenna, and Ike Talbut, alongside Thomas Connor, Noah Flemyng, Cassius Flemyng, Cornelius Brandreth, and Tom Page-Turner.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the series is executive produced by Thorne through One Shoe Films, with Munden and Joel Wilson and Jamie Campbell (Sex Education) also producing.
The score comes from a powerhouse trio: Hans Zimmer (Dune, The Dark Knight), Kara Talve (The Simpsons), and Cristobal Tapia de Veer (The White Lotus, Smile), underscoring the series’ descent into dread and savagery.
