Neve Campbell is officially back as Sidney Prescott in Scream 7, and according to the franchise icon, fans should brace themselves for more than just the expected returns.

While it’s already confirmed that Campbell is joined by Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown, it appears the slasher sequel has a few surprises waiting in the wings.

“There’s been rumor of certain people coming back who are unexpected, and that certainly happens,” Campbell teased in a recent interview with Extra.

The actress also reflected on her decades-long relationship with the franchise, saying, “I’m so grateful for Sidney and to be a part of the franchise for this long — to be part of a job that’s gone for 30 years and is something that fans really love. I think I’m as excited to give it to the fans as I think they are.”

*’Scream 7′ hits theaters on February 27 via Paramount, with screenings available in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and other premium large formats.

The new chapter finds Sidney Prescott living a quiet life — until a new Ghostface killer emerges and targets her daughter, forcing Sidney to confront the horrors of her past once again in a final attempt to stop the bloodshed.

Kevin Williamson, the writer behind Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4, directs from a script he co-wrote with Guy Busick (Scream 2022, Scream VI).

The cast also includes Isabel May, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Timothy Simons, and Mark Consuelos.
