Lionsgate Teases Video Game Adaptations for ‘John Wick’ and ‘Saw’

Lionsgate has been flirting with the idea of expanding the John Wick universe beyond film for a while now. Back in 2023, the studio revealed during an earnings call that video games were on the table. Fast forward to a new earnings call, and it looks like those plans may be getting more serious—and Saw is now part of the conversation.

During Lionsgate’s Q2 2026 earnings call (transcribed by Seeking Alpha), Motion Picture Group chairman Adam Fogelson teased what he described as “increased interest and increased opportunity” in developing new AAA video games based on the studio’s IP library. Two franchises were called out by name: John Wick and Saw.

“Our AAA game opportunities and other gaming opportunities around John Wick and Saw and some others that we’ll be announcing soon, we’re seeing increased interest and increased opportunity, and we remain on schedule,” Fogelson said. “So I think in totality, you are going to see a meaningfully additive financial opportunity coming in the coming years.”

While the comments stop short of confirming full standalone titles, the implication is clear: Lionsgate is actively exploring high-profile gaming projects tied to its biggest brands. It’s also unclear whether these games would be traditional releases or crossover-style appearances in existing platforms like Fortnite—something both John Wick and Saw have already dipped into.

For Saw fans, the news is especially intriguing. The franchise hasn’t seen a dedicated game since 2010’s Saw II: Flesh & Blood, a release that failed to make much of an impact. With the series’ future currently uncertain following the troubled development of Saw XI, the idea of Jigsaw returning in interactive form could be an appealing alternative.

Whether these projects materialize as full AAA experiences or something smaller remains to be seen—but it’s clear Lionsgate is ready to push its most violent franchises into new territory.
