Xie Miao and Joe Taslim throw down against an army of killers in The Furious, a savage, high-impact martial arts revenge thriller clawing its way into theaters May 29 via Lionsgate.
Watch the action-packed trailer below.
When his daughter is snatched by a ruthless criminal network—and the police prove just as rotten—Wang Wei stops playing by the rules. What follows is an all-out rampage through the underworld, with broken bones and spilled blood at every turn.
His only ally is Navin, a dogged journalist searching for his own missing wife. Bound by loss and driven by pure rage, the two form an uneasy partnership, tearing through waves of kidnappers in a relentless, fists-first crusade for vengeance.
Director Kenji Tanigaki (Enter the Fat Dragon) brings the pain, working from a script by Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin, and Frank Hui.
The film also features Yang Enyou, Brian Le, Joey Iwanaga, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Manatsanun Phanlerdwongsakul, Guo Junqing, Winai Wiangyangkung, Yayan Ruhian, and Jija Yanin.
Producing duties fall to Bill Kong, Shan Tam, and Hui, with executive producers Tianfu Xu, Nate Bolotin, Todd Brown, Maxime Cottray, Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian, and Michael J. Werner backing the carnage.
The Furious made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before tearing through the festival circuit, including Sitges Film Festival, Beyond Fest, Red Sea International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, and Boston Underground Film Festival.
Rated R for strong bloody violence and language, this one looks ready to deliver the kind of bone-crunching, blood-splattered chaos genre fans crave.
