Step Back Into Horror: ‘Return to Silent Hill’ Official Poster Released

Director Christophe Gans is bringing the fog back with Return to Silent Hill, and Cineverse just unveiled a chilling new official poster.

An adaptation of the legendary survival horror game Silent Hill 2, Return to Silent Hill is set to hit theaters on January 23, 2026, from Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting. The poster and official trailer promise a descent into darkness fans won’t soon forget.

“The perception of horror has changed completely since 2006,” Gans explains. “Much more disturbing, much more psychological, playing with different levels of perception. It’s one of the reasons I thought it was the time to adapt Silent Hill 2.”

The story follows James, who receives a mysterious letter from his lost love, Mary, drawing him to Silent Hill—a town once familiar, now consumed by darkness. As he searches for Mary, James confronts nightmarish creatures and uncovers a horrifying truth that pushes him to the brink of sanity.

Jeremy Irvine stars as James, with Hannah Emily Anderson as Mary Crane. Gans returns to the franchise he first brought to the big screen in 2006, co-writing the script with Sandra Vo-Anh and William Josef Schneider.

With Return to Silent Hill, the nightmare is back—and it’s darker and more twisted than ever.
