Six years after the last entry, the Men in Black franchise is stirring back to life. Deadline reports that a brand-new installment is officially in development, signaling a potential return to the iconic alien-hunting universe.

According to the outlet, no cast is attached yet, but Bad Boys for Life writer Chris Bremner has been hired to script the next chapter in the long-running sci-fi series.

Plot details are locked down tight, but insiders tell Deadline that once Bremner completes the script, Will Smith will be among the first to read it. The hope? That he’ll suit up again as Agent J. Whether Smith would take center stage or play a supporting, passing-the-torch role—similar to what we’ve seen in Creed—is still unknown, but the plan is to weave his character into the first draft.
