Saw veteran Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-IV, Spiral) is back in the blood-soaked director’s chair with Twisted (formerly The Monster), and the horror film just earned its official R rating.

Twisted stars Lauren LaVera (Terrifier 2 & 3) and is rated R for “strong/bloody violent content, gore, sexual assault, suicide, language and some sexual material.” Also joining the cast are Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place), Mia Healey, Gina Philips, Jacob Lukas Anderson, Alicia Witt, and Neal McDonough.

The story follows two millennials running a high-stakes NYC apartment scam, leasing luxury flats they don’t own to unsuspecting tenants. The con spirals out of control when they encounter an apartment owner harboring a dark, deadly secret—turning the scam into a brutal fight for survival.

Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer (Unsane) penned the screenplay, promising Bousman fans the signature mix of gore, suspense, and shocking twists.
