‘Dance of the Dead’ Director Takes on Halloween Home Invasion Horror ‘The Heretiks’

Director Gregg Bishop — known for Dance of the Dead and Siren — is stepping back into the horror spotlight with The Heretiks, a supernatural home invasion thriller written by Hellraiser (2022) and The Night House scribes Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski.

Backed by Bleiberg Entertainment (The Iceman, Dance of the Dead), The Heretiks unfolds on Halloween night, following a disaffected teenage girl who must team up with a renegade witch to save her younger sister from a murderous coven intent on using her as a human sacrifice in an apocalyptic ritual.

Producers include Ehud and Ariel Bleiberg, Bishop himself, Brad Miska (Terrifier 2), and Chris White (The Backrooms). Filming is set to begin in early 2026 in Bishop’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, with casting now underway.

Ariel Bleiberg shared his excitement, saying, “We’ve wanted to work with Gregg again for a long time. When he showed us The Heretiks and his vision for it, we knew it would be something special — the kind of imaginative, ensemble horror we all grew up loving.”

Described as both nostalgic and terrifying, The Heretiks promises to bring a fresh, chaotic energy to the Halloween horror lineup. Bleiberg Entertainment will present the project at the upcoming American Film Market in Los Angeles.
