Get ready to bleed—Evil Dead Burn has officially wrapped production, and director Sébastien Vaniček marked the occasion with a short teaser clip shared online. The sixth installment in the legendary horror franchise is set to unleash hell in theaters on July 24, 2026, courtesy of New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.

Shot in New Zealand, Fueled by Pain

Principal photography kicked off in New Zealand on July 22, with Vaniček co-writing the script alongside Florent Bernard, his collaborator on the intense French horror film Infested. Philip Lozano (Cobweb, MadS) handled cinematography, promising a visual feast of dread.

The cast includes:

  • Souheila Yacoub (Dune: Part Two)
  • Hunter Doohan (Wednesday)
  • Luciane Buchanan (The Night Agent)
  • Tandi Wright (Pearl)

A Nasty Vision, Straight from the Director’s Gut

While plot details remain tightly sealed, Vaniček hasn’t been shy about the tone he’s aiming for.

“I told the studio I wanted to make a nasty film—a film that hurts, one that leaves you tested,” said Vaniček. “I’m going to pour in every drop of horror I have. It’ll be cathartic. And if I don’t ruin my career doing it, maybe I’ll move on to something other than horror.”

Sounds like Evil Dead Burn will be anything but tame.

Evil Dead Legacy Still Going Strong

The film is backed by the franchise’s core bloodline:

  • Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert producing via Ghost House Pictures
  • Bruce Campbell executive producing (though not starring)
  • Lee Cronin, director of Evil Dead Rise, also on board as executive producer
  • Romel Adam and Jose Canas return as EPs after working on Rise

And if that’s not enough deadite carnage for you—another Evil Dead film is already in development, this one from The Last Stop in Yuma County writer-director Francis Galluppi.

The Necronomicon isn’t done with us yet—and neither is this franchise. July 2026 can’t come soon enough.
