Gothic Horror Film ‘Noseeums’ Acquired by Quiver Distribution

Fresh off its world premiere at FrightFest, Raven DeShay Carter’s feature debut Noseeums has found a distribution home. Quiver Distribution has officially picked up the rights for U.S. release, Deadline reports.

Shot entirely in the shadowy swamps of Florida, Noseeums is a socially charged horror film that mixes supernatural dread with a heavy dose of Southern Gothic atmosphere. It marks a bold first feature from Carter, whose vision digs deep into racial history, spectral vengeance, and psychological unraveling.

Plot Summary:

The story follows Ember, a Black college student who joins her white classmates for a weekend retreat at a secluded rural estate. But the getaway takes a chilling turn when she’s confronted by vengeful spirits linked to the violent legacy of Black land loss in the American South.

What starts as quiet unease quickly spirals into something more insidious—ghosts that don’t forget, and a past that refuses to stay buried.

Industry Reactions:

Michael Favelle, CEO of Odin’s Eye Entertainment, praised the acquisition:

“We’re thrilled to be partnering once more with Quiver for Noseeums. They’ve built a reputation for curating distinct, high-quality genre films, and Carter’s debut fits perfectly within that vision: bold, haunting, and deeply original.”

Reb Braddock, Executive Director of Torchlight Studios and Dean of FSU Film School, added:

“We’re incredibly proud to see Noseeums take this next step. Raven’s voice—and the story she’s telling—deserves to resonate across North America.”

Noseeums doesn’t just aim to scare—it digs under the skin, exposing buried truths and supernatural justice. With Quiver now onboard, expect release details—and hopefully a trailer—to drop soon.
