“Halloween: The Game” Gets A Release Date

Halloween is just around the corner…

So, of course it’s the perfect time to get an all-important update on Halloween: The Game!

IllFonic have revealed a plethora of new information about the game, as well as revealing when it will be available to the public.

Demonstrating actual gameplay for the first time, a short trailer shows us a faithful recreation of the town of Haddonfield on Halloween night 1978. According to IllFonic, it was “vital” that the 1970s aesthetic remain as palpable during their gameplay as it is throughout John Carpenter’s classic movie.

We get glimpses of familiar locations, including the Myers house, the Doyle home, and Mrs. Elrod’s kitchen from 1981’s Halloween II.

In terms of gameplay, the game’s single-player mode will see users embody The Shape as he stalks the streets. The main objective of this campaign is to kill all the NPC residents of Haddonfield before Halloween night ends. To achieve this, the player is equipped with a variety of special abilities when playing The Shape. The most powerful of these abilities is “Shape Jump.” When in “Shape Jump,” Michael becomes invisible to the naked eye and can move at a fast pace, to inexplicably pop up ahead of a fleeing victim.

We also got a look at the online multiplayer campaign, in which players must warn as many Haddonfield residents as possible about the impending danger. As well as raising the alarm, players then must lead NPC’s away from Haddonfield and out of harm’s way.

As well as all this exciting new footage and info, we also have an official release date for Halloween: The Game.

The game will be available to purchase physically and digitally from September 8th 2026. Platforms hosting Halloween: The Game include PS5, Xbox X and S series, and Steam.
