The official red band trailer for the upcoming “The Boys” spinoff series “Gen V” has been released, giving a closer look at the show’s ultra-violent, R-rated world.
The trailer, which you can watch below, features a montage of scenes from the series, including characters using their superpowers to inflict bloody violence on each other. The trailer also hints at the show’s dark humor and its exploration of the darker side of the superhero genre.
“Gen V” is set at Godolkin University, a prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes. However, as the trailer shows, not all of these students are destined to be heroes. Some of them are more interested in using their powers for their own personal gain, and the series will explore the moral ambiguities of the superhero world.
The series stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. It was created by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, who are also showrunners.
“Gen V” will premiere on Prime Video on September 29, 2023.
