Fantastico Studio Provides Update on “Cannibal Tales” Visual Novel, Closed Beta Planned for Halloween.

Fantastico Studio has offered a fresh progress update on their upcoming visual novel, “Cannibal Tales,” as they prepare for a beta release this Halloween. In this latest update, the studio has not only expanded the beta with three new scenes but also delves into the intriguing characters featured in this Ruggero Deodato-scripted game.

“As the beta release approaches, we’re applying the final touches to localize the new scenes in the upcoming demo,” states the update. This closed beta follows the success of the demo that the developer showcased back in August as part of Steam’s Visual Novel Fest.

Fantastico has also shared details about the characters who will play a pivotal role in the first entry, “The Interview,” scheduled for a Winter release:

1. Helena – A journalist at “Bloody Disgusting” (unrelated to our publication), Helena finds herself ensnared in a tumultuous and manipulative relationship with her boss, Paul.

2. Paul – The enigmatic European entrepreneur behind “Bloody Disgusting,” Paul revels in macabre content and operates in the shadows, exercising sadistic control over Helena.

3. Maura – A nurse working in the psychiatric institution where Noah, an associate of the notorious cannibal Price, is confined. Driven solely by monetary gain, Maura is not one to be trusted.

4. Noah – A 30-year-old with a childlike innocence borne from past traumas. His fragile demeanor reflects vulnerability, and though he rarely experiences hunger, he cherishes chocolate for its fleeting moments of pleasure. His relationship with the cannibal Price remains a mystery that players will aim to unravel in the game.

5. Price – An accused cannibal and serial killer who terrifies his victims by consuming them alive. Having eluded the police for years, he is a master at online enticement, creating relationships founded on trust and dependency.

“Cannibal Tales” is a three-part visual novel adventure game crafted by the director of “Cannibal Holocaust.” In the first installment, “The Interview,” players assume the role of Helena, whose objective is to secure a scoop that will elevate her to a partner position at “Bloody Disgusting.” To achieve this, Helena decides to investigate the mystery surrounding Noah, a young survivor of the metropolitan cannibal, Price. Her mission is to secure an interview to unveil the connection between the two and understand why Noah was spared. During the interview, players’ morality will be tested as the line between good and evil becomes increasingly blurred.

To participate in the closed beta for “Cannibal Tales,” interested individuals must sign up for Fantastico’s mailing list, which can be done via their website. “Cannibal Tales” is currently in development for PC and will be available on Steam.
