Once again, Tom Hardy has signaled Venom 3’s comeback after the actors’ strike had shut down filming last year.

For those unfamiliar with the original film Venom (2018) and its sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) — it follows a journalist named Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy,) who gains enhanced physical strength and abilities through an encounter with the alien, Venom.

According to MovieWeb, the film’s star posted a photo on his Instagram back in November to indicate production had resumed. Now, Hardy is stirring up more excitement by sharing yet another photo from the film set — highlighting Venom 3’s director, Kelly Marcel.

His corresponding caption reads:

“The Last dance – thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic Cast and crew- good friends and family – we’ve come a long way – it’s been and continues to be a lot of fun this journey there’s always hard turns to burn when we work but doesn’t feel as hard when you love what you do and when you know you have great material and the support at all sides, of a great team.”

“I want to mention very briefly how proud of my Director, writing partner and dear friend Kelly Marcel I am. watching you taking the helm on this one fills me with pride, it is an honour.”

“Here’s to a great ride!!!”

We’re delighted to witness Venom 3 returning, and Tom Hardy’s endearing choice to spell “honour” in his native UK English style, as opposed to the American way, further adds to his charm.

In addition to Hardy, other talented actors attached to Marcel’s action film include Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange, 12 Years a Slave.) Currently, only Hardy’s reprisal as Eddie Brock has been teased, so we’ll have to wait to see what roles his gifted counterparts will take on.

In the meantime, check out Venom, now available on Disney+.
