Following its New York Comic Con panel, the first poster for ‘The Strangers: Chapter 1,’ which kicks off Lionsgate’s upcoming trilogy, is now available online.

The film is poised to be a reimagining of the original 2008 movie, while its subsequent chapters, ‘Chapter 2’ and ‘Chapter 3,’ will chart a fresh course within the franchise.

The cast includes Madelaine Petsch (‘Riverdale’), Froy Gutierrez (‘Hocus Pocus 2’), Rachel Shenton (‘The Silent Child’), Ema Horvath (‘Rings of Power’), and Gabe Basso (‘Hillbilly Elegy’) in key roles.

Drawing inspiration from the beloved 2008 cult horror series, this project revolves around Petsch’s character embarking on a cross-country journey with her longtime boyfriend (Gutierrez) as they seek to start a new life in the Pacific Northwest. However, their plans take a sinister turn when their car breaks down in Venus, Oregon, compelling them to spend the night in a remote Airbnb. Little do they know that their stay will devolve into a nightmarish ordeal as they find themselves tormented by three masked intruders from dusk till dawn.

Renowned director Renny Harlin (‘Cliffhanger,’ ‘Deep Blue Sea,’ ‘Die Hard 2’) helms the movie, working with a screenplay penned by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland (‘The Freak Brothers,’ ‘Due Date’). Lionsgate is set to distribute the film globally.

‘The Strangers’ franchise made its debut in 2008 with Bryan Bertino’s original home invasion horror film, introducing the chilling trio of masked killers. They resurfaced a decade later in ‘The Strangers: Prey at Night’ (2018), with the first film set in a remote woodland house and the sequel unleashing the murderous Man in the Mask, Dollface, and Pinup Girl in a trailer park setting.”
