The Weeping Woman is arriving earlier than expected.

Warner Bros. has officially moved the release date for ‘The Revenge of La Llorona’, the long-awaited sequel to 2019’s The Curse of La Llorona. Originally scheduled to hit theaters on April 9, 2027, the supernatural horror film will now premiere on February 26, 2027.

The sequel brings back Raymond Cruz as curandero Rafael Olvera, joined by a new cast that includes Jay Hernandez (Hostel), Monica Raymund, Edy Ganem (9-1-1), Martín Fajardo (Griselda), Acston Luca Porto (Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado), and Avie Porto (Bob Hearts Abishola).

This time, the legendary spirit La Llorona returns to torment a fractured family, forcing them to reunite with their estranged grandfather in a desperate attempt to stop the ancient evil before she claims their children forever.

Stepping behind the camera is Santiago Menghini (No One Gets Out Alive), taking over directing duties from Michael Chaves, who helmed the original film before moving on to other entries in The Conjuring Universe.

The screenplay was written by Sean Tretta, with horror heavyweights James Wan, Gary Dauberman, and Emile Gladstone producing.

Inspired by one of Latin America’s most enduring supernatural legends, ‘The Revenge of La Llorona’ aims to expand the mythology of the Weeping Woman while delivering a new chapter of paranormal terror when it arrives in theaters next February.
