The acclaimed director and writer team of David Fincher and Andrew Kevin Walker are back together for the first time since their 1995 masterpiece Se7en. The Killer, an adaptation of the graphic novel series of the same name by Alexis Nolent, will premiere on Netflix on November 10, 2023.

The film stars Michael Fassbender as an assassin who, after a fateful near-miss, is forced to battle his employers and himself on an international manhunt. The supporting cast includes Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, and Sophie Charlotte.

Walker, who also wrote the screenplay for Se7en, has said that The Killer is “a meditation on violence and the nature of evil.” Fincher has described the film as “a dark and twisted thriller that will stay with you long after you’ve seen it.”

The Killer will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 3, 2023. It will then be released in select theaters in October before streaming on Netflix in November.
