David Gordon Green, the mastermind behind the successful “Halloween” reboot, is all set to relaunch The Exorcist franchise this Halloween with the highly anticipated film, “The Exorcist: Believer.” Excitement is building as rumors suggest the official trailer will drop soon, but in the meantime, three eerie and haunting posters have been unveiled, sending shivers down the spines of horror enthusiasts.

Directed by Gordon Green, this brand-new sequel for Universal, Blumhouse, and Morgan Creek is set to pave the way for an all-new trilogy. The first film of this spine-chilling series is scheduled to hit theaters on October 13, 2023, with Leslie Odom Jr. taking the lead role.

As for the plot details, we were teased with intriguing information last year: Odom Jr. will portray the father of a possessed child, desperately seeking help and turning to Ellen Burstyn’s character for assistance.

The film boasts an impressive cast, including Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett, Raphael Sbarge, Jennifer Nettles, and Olivia Marcum, promising riveting performances to complement the unsettling narrative.

“Believer” is written by Peter Sattler and Gordon Green, with an engrossing story created by Green, Scott Teems, and Danny McBride.

The Exorcist franchise has been absent from the big screen since the 2005 release of “Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist,” an alternate version of the previous year’s “Exorcist: The Beginning.” These films followed 1977’s “The Exorcist II: The Heretic” and 1990’s “The Exorcist III.”

Notably, “The Exorcist” was briefly resurrected as a television series on Fox, earning praise for its excellence and clever incorporation of the original classic’s world.

As Halloween draws near, horror fans can hardly contain their anticipation for the bone-chilling return of The Exorcist franchise, eager to witness the terror and thrill that David Gordon Green has in store for them.
