Nearly two decades after its original release, ‘The Descent: Part 2’ is making its long-awaited debut on 4K Ultra HD in the United States.

Lionsgate has announced a new Limited Edition 4K SteelBook, giving horror collectors the first opportunity to own the sequel in 4K. The release is available for pre-order now and arrives on August 11, 2026.

Picking up immediately after the events of The Descent, the sequel follows Sarah Carter (Shauna Macdonald) as she emerges from the cave system traumatized, injured, and unable to explain the nightmare she survived.

When a rescue team forces her back underground to search for her missing friends, Sarah’s memories slowly begin to return. But the horrors beneath the earth are far from over, as the group encounters an even deadlier tribe of bloodthirsty Crawlers lurking in the darkness.

The new two-disc 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray SteelBook features brand-new artwork by Matt Ryan Tobin and includes a collection of new and legacy bonus features.
