“Sharknado” Celebrating 10th Anniversary with Theatrical Release

The Asylum has announced today that they’re celebrating 10 years of their cult classic made-for-TV hit Sharknado this summer with a two-night-only theatrical release.

On August 15 and August 16Sharknado is coming to theaters for the very first time, and The Asylum is promising a fully remastered version with “100s of new special effects.”

This brand-new version of the movie will feature “more kills and more thrills.”

Directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, Sharknado originally debuted on SYFY on July 11, 2013. With a wacky premise involving sharks falling from the skies, Sharknado proved to be a viral hit on social media, paving the way for four sequels released between 2014 and 2017.
