Exciting news for horror enthusiasts as ‘Home Sweet Home – Where Evil Lives‘ has been freshly announced and is set to make its World Premiere at FrightFest London on August 28. Variety has shared an exclusive first-look image, building anticipation for this unique horror experience.

Directed by Thomas Sieben, known for his work on “Kidnapping Stella,” the film stands out with its innovative approach of being a “one-shot horror film told in real-time.” The Playmaker has partnered with Constantin Film to handle international sales, adding to the buzz surrounding the project.

The story revolves around Maria (played by Nilam Farooq), a heavily pregnant woman who finds herself alone in her father-in-law’s secluded countryside home. Unbeknownst to her, the house holds dark secrets that begin to unravel as Maria delves deeper into the strange occurrences happening around her.

As Maria investigates, including a sudden power outage while on a call with her fiancé Viktor (David Kross), she descends into the basement, only to hear eerie noises and sense a chilling presence lurking behind her. Determined to uncover the truth, she discovers a hidden room that reveals a terrible family secret, sending her into a state of panic as she tries to escape back to town. However, her attempt is thwarted when she realizes her car key is missing, plunging her into a nightmarish struggle for survival.

Alongside Nilam Farooq, the film features Justus von Dohnányi (“The Experiment”) and David Kross (“The Reader”) in starring roles, promising a captivating performance from the talented cast.

Moritz Hemminger, deputy head of sales and acquisitions at The Playmaker, described ‘Home Sweet Home – Where Evil Lives’ as a pulse-pounding horror movie that immerses viewers in a nerve-wracking experience they won’t soon forget.

German audiences can mark their calendars as the film is set to release in cinemas on January 25, 2024, delivering a chilling start to the new year. Brace yourself for this gripping one-shot horror movie that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
