“Why isn’t this film titled ‘Sharks on a Plane,’ you might be asking? Well, despite its whimsical premise, ‘No Way Up‘ appears to be a genuinely intense shark attack horror movie.
Scheduled for release by RLJE Films in theaters and on various rental platforms on February 16, the recent trailer suggests that ‘No Way Up’ is not just another “SYFY Original.”
Hailing from the producers of ’47 Meters Down,’ it seems they are striving to capture a similar thrilling atmosphere. Check out the latest official trailer for ‘No Way Up’ above.
In a recent development, ‘No Way Up’ has officially earned an “R” rating from the Motion Picture Association (MPA) this week. The horror movie has been rated “R” for “language and bloody/grisly images.”
In ‘No Way Up’…
“When a plane crashes in the Pacific Ocean and comes to rest on the edge of an underwater ravine, the survivors face a race against time to escape the airlocked galley they are trapped in.”
The cast includes Sophia McIntosh, Colm Meaney, Phyllis Logan, Grace Nettle, and Will Attenborough.
Directed by Claudio Fäh, the film’s screenplay is credited to Andy Mayson.
Looking ahead, there are other shark attack horrors on our radar, such as the Japanese film ‘Hot Springs Shark Attack,’ the 1940s period piece ‘Fear Below,’ and the World War II-set ‘Beast of War.’
On a related note, both ‘The Meg’ and its sequel, ‘The Meg 2,’ are now available for streaming on Netflix.”
