Tubi, the streaming platform, has released a brand new horror movie titled ‘The Amityville Curse,’ which serves as a modern adaptation of Hans Holzer’s 1981 novel. Interestingly, Holzer’s book also inspired the official franchise film, ‘The Amityville Curse,’ released in 1990.
The Tubi Original stays true to the essence of Holzer’s novel while presenting a fictionalized storyline that adds a fresh perspective to the popular franchise. Incendo, the production company, secured the rights to Holzer’s original novel from his estate, ensuring an authentic approach to the film.
In ‘The Amityville Curse,’ a group of friends decides to purchase an infamous house with the aim of renovating and selling it, only to discover a malevolent paranormal presence hell-bent on destruction.
The film was adapted by Dennis Heaton (‘Motive’) and directed by Éric Tessier (‘You Will Remember Me’). Executive producers include Graham Ludlow, Kaleigh Kavanagh, Brook Peters, and Shari Segal, all of whom were involved in the production of the horror film ‘Terror Train.’ Additionally, Alexandra Holzer, Hans Holzer’s daughter, and fellow author, contributed to the film, paying tribute to her father’s work and ensuring the continuation of his authentic legacy.
