New Line Cinema and producer Zach Cregger, known for “Barbarian,” are gearing up to unleash the sci-fi/horror flick “Companion,” which has just secured its “R” rating this week.

According to the MPA, “Companion” has earned its “R” rating due to its “strong violence, sexual content, and language throughout.”

The film boasts a star-studded cast including Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets,” “The Boogeyman”), Rupert Friend (“Separation”), Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”), Lukas Gage (“You”), Megan Suri (“It Lives Inside”), and Jack Quaid (“Scream,” “The Boys”).

Directed by Drew Hancock, making his directorial debut, and written by Hancock himself, “Companion” is shrouded in mystery as plot details remain tightly under wraps.

With little revealed about the storyline, audiences are left eagerly anticipating what surprises “Companion” has in store. Stay tuned for further updates.

Producing the film are Raphael Margules and J.D. Lifshitz from BoulderLight, alongside Roy Lee from Vertigo. Tracy Rosenblum from BoulderLight and Andrew Childs from Vertigo will serve as executive producers.
