Characters from beloved children’s stories and nursery rhymes are increasingly finding themselves in the world of horror movies. The trend includes Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Goldilocks, and even The Grinch, all getting their share of the dark side. The latest addition to this lineup is Mary and her Little Lamb from the nursery rhyme “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” This chilling twist on the classic nursery rhyme is set to release on DVD and Digital platforms on October 3rd, and a trailer for the film is now available for viewing.
“Mary Had a Little Lamb” is directed by Jason Arber, known for his work on short films, music videos, and contributions to films like “Kick-Ass” and “Meg 2: The Trench” in the animation and visual effects departments. The screenplay for the film is penned by Harry Boxley, who also wrote “Cinderella’s Curse” and has upcoming projects such as “Jack and Jill 3” and “Curse of Humpty Dumpty 3” (yes, Jack, Jill, and Humpty Dumpty have their own horror franchises!).
The film’s synopsis reads: A radio host and her crew embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind a series of disappearances for a true crime show. Little do they know that their investigation will lead them to Mary and her lamb, and a house of horrors from which survival is uncertain.
The movie stars May Kelly, Danielle Scott, and Christine Ann Nyland.
Uncork’d Entertainment is responsible for the DVD and Digital release of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” Keith Leopard from the distributor expressed his anticipation, describing the film as “campy and fun, with terrific special and visual effects.” He expects it to be a popular title and is eager to hear the audience’s reaction to this entertaining horror flick.
