Following the tremendous success of the original thriller “Single Black Female” in 2022, Lifetime is gearing up for the release of its highly anticipated sequel, “Single Black Female 2: Simone’s Revenge,” set to premiere on March 2 at 8 pm.

According to Deadline, the first installment, which offered a contemporary twist on the movie “Single White Female,” drew significant viewership, averaging over 8 million total viewers across both linear and digital platforms. Notably, it was Lifetime’s top original non-holiday movie of 2022.

The upcoming sequel brings back familiar faces, with Amber Riley, Raven Goodwin, and K. Michelle reprising their roles. In “Single Black Female 2,” set three years after the events of the first film, Monica (Goodwin), having narrowly escaped her half-sister Simone’s (Riley) murderous intentions, is now ready for a fresh start in Seattle. Monica takes on the role of the host for the city’s prime-time investigative television program. With her best friend Bebe (Michelle) by her side and a new love interest, Monica’s life seems to be on an upward trajectory. Meanwhile, Simone, secretly nursed back to health and suffering from amnesia, stumbles upon Monica on TV, triggering a rush of memories and leading to a fateful reunion between the sisters.

The central question in the sequel revolves around whether the two can put the past behind them or if Simone’s desire for revenge will prevail.

Morgan Alexandria, Christine Horn, and Kendrick Cross join the cast of “Single Black Female 2: Simone’s Revenge,” with Shari Carpenter directing. Sa’Rah Jones and Tessa Scott are credited as the screenwriters for the film. Lifetime is gearing up for another thrilling installment that promises to captivate audiences with its suspenseful narrative and engaging performances.
