Let It Kill You, an indie werewolf short, is set to make its California premiere at the esteemed Dances With Films Festival later this month, promising a unique take on the mythology of lycanthropes.

According to sources, the film introduces an intriguing concept, suggesting that the Anubis, the Ancient Egyptian god of the dead, might have been the earliest known werewolf.

Today, we have the exclusive opportunity to share a clip that showcases the extraordinary practical effects of werewolf transformation. In this scene, the creature emerges from a mummified-shaped cocoon, presenting a fresh and innovative approach.

Written, directed, and composed by David Cornue, Let It Kill You follows the story of a disillusioned American soldier who stumbles upon an alleged enemy combatant buried in a tomb. As he fights to prove the man’s innocence, he gradually discovers that his newfound friend may have been interred alive for a significant reason.

You can catch Let It Kill You during the Midnight Shorts Block 1 on June 24 at 11:45 PM as part of the Dances With Films Festival. For more details, visit the official festival website.

Let It Kill You is a collaborative effort between New Core Productions, Molecule Productions, and Sun and Moon Films. The producers include Adam Huss, who also stars as Aidan West, and Adam Bucci, portraying Rahotep. Jeff Caroli serves as the Director of Photography, while special effects are handled by Simon White and his team at Runs With Scissors, and VFX by Steven Meyer and the FuseFX team.

Creature design is credited to George Troester, and Tim Vincent takes charge as the film’s colorist.
