“Infested” (aka “Vermines”) is allegedly “one of the best spider attack movies in years. “Shudder has acquired the rights for U.S. release, though a specific date is yet to be announced.

This week, a new French teaser trailer for “Infested” has emerged, and rest assured, it lives up to the spine-tingling expectations associated with a spider-themed horror film.

Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, “Infested” unfolds in the French projects, where an underprivileged suburb descends into chaos due to an invasion of venomous spiders. Placed under quarantine, residents find themselves on lockdown with increasingly large and terrifying spiders.

The narrative follows Kaleb, on the brink of turning 30 and grappling with loneliness. Amid conflicts with his sister over inheritance and severed ties with his best friend, Kaleb, passionate about exotic animals, introduces a venomous spider into his home, inadvertently setting off a chain of unsettling events.

The cast includes Théo Christine (“Suprêmes”), Finnegan Oldfield (“Final Cut”), Jérôme Niel (“Smoking Causes Coughing”), Sofia Lesaffre (“Les Misérables”), and Lisa Nyarko. Florent Bernard contributed to the script.
